KYP WorkShop Quotation Process – upholstery and restoration services
The process of estimating materials and labour can be time consuming, and we are generally pretty busy. In order to best serve our customers, and maintain productivity, we find it helpful to estimate work as follows:
Email a few photos of your item and a short summary of what you would like done to firstname.lastname@example.org
1) BALLPARK QUOTE – from photo(s) and brief discussion we can give an indication of
materials required and cost of labour. Send us a few photos from different angles, approximate measurements, and any relevant information we should know (work you want done, fabric preferences, news about any damage or issues you would like looked at, etc).
This will give you an idea of likely cost, and provides a perspective from which to consider.
2) MEASURED QUOTE – if you would like to proceed to a more accurate costing, an appointment is made for us to come to you and inspect & measure ‘in the flesh’.
From this, along with further fabric/materials discussions, we can provide an accurate costing and assessment of materials required (generally within 24-48 hours). Timing of works can also be discussed and agreed at this stage.
The charge for a ‘measured quote’ is $50 (towards value of time, travel, etc - payable at time of quote), which is happily refunded as a credit against final invoice of work done.
3) BOOKING IN – once quotation is accepted, we’ll book in a time for pickup/delivery of your item. At time of booking, deposit is to be paid in amount equal to value of fabrics (as quoted).
Should unexpected issues arise once works have commenced (internal/structural problems or other ‘hidden’ problems, not evident at time of quoting), we will pause work and contacted you to discuss possible remedies prior to proceeding.
4) DELIVERY – we’ll be in touch as soon as your item is ready (happy to send you photos, or save the surprise) to arrange pickup or delivery …
