Australian design classic – the Tessa T8 by Fred Lowen, made in Australia circa 1974.

Super-cool and super-comfortable lounge design.  An innovative combination of curved ply elements, with support provided by cotton canvas sling, comfort courtesy of leather upholstered cushions.

Frame is dark walnut, cushions in a deep brown tone.  This configuration comprises 2 modular units – low-slung chairs which sit together to form a compact couch.  The units can also be separated to serve as a pair of single lounge chairs, with removable arms

Inspired by his travels to Denmark and Sweden in the late 60s, Fred Lowen proved himself to be this country’s most innovative furniture designer through his Tessa brand.  The T8 range premiered in the early 70s, with designs still manufactured today.

Good overall condition.  Frame shows some wear but remains structurally sound and supportive.  The leather cushions are aged and original, with some minor flaws.
